Ezra Klein, of the Washington Post, recently contacted nearly 20 economists, politicians, and policy wonks on what their favorite economic charts were, in 2011. BBC News did something similar.
As you look at the charts, with the noted exception of a few ridiculous opinions (cough, cough, Paul Ryan…), it's pretty easy to see, the two biggest problems in the economy are income inequality and a lack of revenue - and the solution is NOT austerity.
Our favorite graphic though, was one our web producer Shawn built for us, from BLS data, that points out two major facts: President Obama has overseen twenty-one consecutive months of private sector job growth - and the stimulus worked.
Of course, as Jared Bernstein - former Chief Economist for Vice President Joe Biden and current Senior Fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities - points out, our biggest economic problem is still the inequality dragon.
