If you listen to that right-wing media swill that masquerades as news, you have to stop. It's poisoning your mind, and keeping you from the truth.
The truth is, the U.S. economy really HAS begun to recover - and the facts simply don't lie.
To start with, the housing segment that began the Bush recession has finally begun to recover. Housing starts - the beginning of new housing being built - went up 15% in September.
At the same time, the unemployment rate has continued to go down - 7.8% according to the BLS. According to Gallup, the mid-October unadjusted unemployment rate is even lower, at 7.3%
People aren't just sitting on thier money either. Consumer confidence is the highest it's been since the Bush recession began, more than four years ago. Stocks, gold, and oil investments are all up under Obama. People are buying more new cars - and they're even going out to dinner more.
The fact is, it's beginning to look a lot like recovery out there.
Maybe we should keep the guy responsible for this economic miracle in place, for just a bit longer. Say... four years or so...
