Today - August 28th - is the 49th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s "I Have a Dream" speech. The election of Barack Obama four years ago marked part of that dream coming true.
Unfortunately, there are still far too many Americans willing to play the race card when their political challenges get desperate - see Mitt Romney and the current Republican Party leadership. Some of them call their convienient racism a "joke" - but their hatred and ignorance aren't funny.
Still, as Dr. King said on that day in Washington, 49 years ago, "Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends...
Even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream."
