Maureen Dowd hit it right on the head when she wrote, "If I closed my eyes, and added a creepy monotone, I could have been listening to Dick Cheney."
If you heard Mitt Romney's speech at the VFW earlier this week, you likely noticed the same thing many journalists did: there wasn't really much substance in Romney's speech. What little content there was in Romney's address either just followed President Obama's current path - or just regurgitated the old Neocon applause lines. The Neocon lines shouldn't surprise anyone, considering who Romney's foreign policy advisors are - and who's giving him money.
You can listen for yourself - if you can stomach the address:
Don't apologize if you can't handle watching the speech. As Chris Matthews said about Mitt's address, “If anyone should apologize to America, it’s the Neocons who wrote Romney’s speech. ”
In short, there wasn't any foreign policy in Romney's foreign policy speech. C'mon, Mitt - if you're gonna try and and be a Neocon, be like Darth Cheney, get serious about it. 'Cause this douche-y fake Romney-style neoconservatism just makes you look even more like a detached, rich boy pansy who doesn't want to get his hands dirty.
Which is actually closer to the truth than Mitt got anywhere during his VFW Speech.
