The way Republican politicians have been acting about President Obama's recent decision to ease immigration policy, you'd think their pants were on fire - which they should be, with the lies they've been telling about the new immigration policy.

The Obama Administration's new immigration policy isn't the full "DREAM Act" - something the President stressed when he made his announcement of the policy change. It doesn't even put these immigrants-in-name-only on a path to full legal citizenship - as the initial bi-partisan DREAM Act attempted to do, or as the most recent Democratic version of the DREAM Act legislation proposed.

The howls and claims from the right that President Obama did nothing on immigration during his first two years in office is a lie on its face, when you remember that the DREAM act passed the House under Nancy Pelosi in 2010. Now? The Republican-led Senate won't even consider the DREAM Act.

As usual, the facts haven't kept Republicans from having a meltdown on this issue:

Thankfully, the American people have already made up their mind about the President's change of immigration policy - and they overwhelmingly support it. Two-thirds of likely voters say Obama made the right decision, to bypass the Republicans in Congress, since they wouldn't get off their asses and do something.

The President's move on this issue is the kind of bold action Americans have been wanting to see come from anyone in Washington. That Mr. Obama stepped up and delivered not only good policy but good politics shows exactly who is standing with the American people - and who is still dancing around the issues.
